While there may be people staying in the hotel that don't have anything to do with the convention itself, there won't be any other events going on in the hotel while we're there...we booked the ENTIRE PLACE...

The vicinity of the hotel also has some good selection of restaurants to go chump on in case of a hunger attack. Remember not to *only* depend on sugar during conventions! Within a two mile radius, there's many to choose from. Yoshimatsu is a decent Japanese restaurant (although their okonomiyakis didn't turn out all that good last time I tried). There's also Middle Eastern & South Eastern restaurants, as well as the Southeast and Eastern Asian restaurants. Heck, knowing that there's a Vietnamese sandwich shop nearby is comforting. They aren't very popular and are hard to find!

Best sushi in Town is Yamato's, which is about 2 miles from the hotel, on 857 E. Grant Rd. it's not the cheapest sushi in town, just the best (the sushi-cho/owner Noboru was trained in Japan and makes all the sushi himself). They do have to-go orders, but sometimes you have to wait a bit if they're busy, so call ahead if you want to order out.

Phone: (520) 624-3377 :)
Getting there from the hotel: Take Cambell North to Grant, turn left on Grant, keep going west and turn right (north) into the shopping center past the light at Park. Yamato's is in the little strip mall to the west of CVS Pharmacy, between the Indian Restaurant (Sheri Pun-Jab -- which by the way, has great garlic nan), and a barber shop.

Fantastic Ice Cream is at Santa Barbara's Ice Cream at the Southwest corner (on Campbell) of the hotel in a little strip mall.
